Customer Reviews:
5 out of 5 stars AS Geography book - liked it very much   September 26, 2005

This book proved very useful in study AS level Geography. I studied Edexcel Geography Specification B, and this book covered everything in the course. It gives a lot of detail, so it is best not to be used for last minute revision. However it was the detail, and thorough explanations which made it such an appealing book.
Some chapters of the book were not relevant to my course however.

3 out of 5 stars The book is alright but needs additional case study material   February 21, 2003

Although the book is good at teaching students the basic principles and vocabulary for AS Geography it is short of the vital and extensive case studies which are needed to get the top marks.
The book provides some very brief and basic case studies, however at this level a greater depth of knowledge is needed. This book only works well when it is used alongside numerous other Geography textbooks.

5 out of 5 stars An excellent student guide for the new 'A'-Level syllabi!   September 25, 2000
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

This book is aimed at just the right level for candidates beginning the new 'A'-Level syllabi. It covers: The Earths Crust, Hydrology, Coasts, Atmosphere and Ecosystems, Population, The Urban World, Rural environments and Economic Activity. There are good pictures, diagrams & questions throughout.

I'd recommend it to any teacher too - it gives a good insight into the depth required. An excellent guide!
